Know what broke your internet.

Homecorder sits in your Mac's menu bar and records your home network every few seconds. When something goes wrong, it tells you which layer was at fault, with the evidence.

Coming soon to the Mac App Store

For macOS 26 or later. Nothing leaves your Mac.

Homecorder's menu bar window: Wi-Fi was fine, the router was fine, your ISP's first hop lost 31% of packets for 4 minutes.

A verdict, not a pile of graphs

Homecorder measures your Wi-Fi link, the latency and loss to your router, your ISP's first hop and the wider internet, and how long DNS lookups take. When a problem shows up, it names the layer at fault:

Private by design

Everything is recorded and analyzed on your Mac. There is no account, and no measurement is sent anywhere.

Ask your agent what happened

Homecorder includes a local MCP server, so Claude, Cursor or Codex can read your incidents and explain them. It runs on your Mac, through the app itself, with no network port.

Optional: Homecorder Helper

The App Store app works on its own. A small, free helper adds what macOS doesn't allow inside the App Sandbox: HomeKit and AirPlay devices, hardware addresses, and packet headers saved around problems. About the helper
